Grayson Hawk {27 months}

{I feel like I need to do a month-date for G, too... Even though he's already 2. He has grown and changed so much!}

You guys? This kid has been through so much in the last six weeks, well I suppose 2 months now... In November, he {supposedly} broke his leg and I say supposedly because a radiologist somewhere saw the break, but no one else could, not even the bone doctor. From that point, it was like a tail spin. A week before Christmas, he got the stomach flu. New Years Eve {John and my's 5 year anniversary!} he got a respiratory virus that required nebulizer treatments. Mid-January, he wound up getting RSV. So, we're coming down from that now.

Through all of this?

He's been such a trooper. The days when he's feeling halfway decent, he's happy and chats us up. When he's having his really bad days, he's super cuddly. Doesn't even complain, really. It's been hard to watch, but he's made it easier by being so easy going about all of it.

In non-illness related news, developmentally he's really beginning to blossom. He talks in sentences and answers questions when asked. It's really been fun to watch. Just yesterday, we were driving in the car and he said to himself, "I see birds. They're so beautiful." I was thinking to myself, who are you? He's pretty amazing.

He's got all of his letters down, in recognition and sounds they make. He also knows the ABC song because we sing it everytime he washes his hands. He can count to fifty frontwards and from twenty backwards. He knows all his numbers and he's beginning to put together that I have one thing in this hand plus the one thing in this hand equals two things. Just the other day, he looked at the wall in our bedroom and said, "I see four pictures." {There are four framed photos on our wall.} I about fell over.

He knows all of his basic shapes and colors. Tells me when to stop and go at stoplights. He loves trains, cars and airplanes. He understands concepts such as open/close and under/over.

He's still not the most coordinated person ever, but that doesn't keep him from dancing around and showing us his happy feet {which is basically stomping his feet super fast}...

Right now his favorite TV shows are Little Einsteins and Max & Ruby. He usually asks me about midday {which is also usually a sign he's nearly ready or nap}, "Max & Ruby, ok?"

His favorite books are, "Llama, Llama Red Pajama," "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site," "I love you, Stinkyface," and "The Busy Tree." We do a lot of trips to the library. It's one of his favorite outings.

This picture cracks me up because G is a SUPER picky eater. If it's something he's not used to or hasn't seen for a while, he won't touch it. So, him eating spaghetti with reckless abandon? Nothing short of a miracle. It was a beautiful thing.

I suppose that's all for now. He's growing into such a neat little human. He's so kind and friendly and he makes me so proud everyday. I just love his little toddler face so much! {Especially when he tells me NO and fights nap with every bit of will he has... Ha.}

Until next time...
